The Grassy Mountain Gold Project is a proposed underground gold mine in Malheur County, Oregon, approximately 22 miles south of Vale.

If approved, the project would include an underground mine and surface facilities needed to support mining and processing operations.

These may include:

• Access and haul roads
• Buildings and site infrastructure
• Power supply and water systems
• Movement of equipment and materials

Grassy Mountain is designed as an underground operation, so most mining activity would take place below the surface and would not be visible.
Processing and site operations are contained within a defined project area, and systems such as water management, environmental monitoring, and regulatory oversight take place as part of the project but would not typically be visible in day-to-day activities.

We know that water, land use, and environmental protection are top priorities for the community.
The project is being designed to:

• Protect local water sources
• Manage water use and quality
• Minimize disturbance to land and wildlife
• Plan for reclamation during and after operations

Reclamation—the process of restoring mined land to a stable, safe, and productive condition— is part of the mine plan from the very beginning. As work progresses, disturbed areas will be reshaped, revegetated and restored over time to support a stable, self-sustaining landscape and return the site as close as practical to its natural condition.

All submissions will be reviewed and acknowledged, with appropriate follow-up provided. Feedback from the community helps us identify opportunities to improve how we plan, communicate, and carry out project activities.

Donation requests

Supporting local communities is an important part of how Paramount Gold aims to build positive, long-term relationships through the Grassy Mountain Gold Project. While the company has provided financial support to local organizations and community initiatives over the years, we recognize the value of having a clear and transparent process in place for requesting community funding.

As the project progresses, we are exploring the development of a formal community donations program. Once established, information about eligibility, application requirements, timelines and how to submit a request will be made available on this website and our Facebook page.

Bursary program

While the Grassy Mountain Project is still progressing through the regulatory process, Paramount Gold is exploring opportunities to support education and skills development in nearby communities, including a bursary program to help local students pursue post-secondary education and training. We will provide more information on this website and our Facebook page as it becomes available.
