GRASSY MOUNTAIN GOLD

A Paramount Gold Nevada project

The Grassy Mountain Gold Project (Grassy) is a proposed underground gold mine located in the high desert of Malheur County, approximately 22 miles south of Vale and 70 miles west of Boise, Idaho. Led by Paramount Gold Nevada, the project is expected to become Oregon’s first modern gold mining operation.

The project’s above ground footprint sits within a fraction of the 8,200-acre land package wholly owned by Paramount. With a high-grade underground deposit, defined infrastructure plans, and key federal approvals already secured, Grassy is currently in the final stages of state permitting, positioning the project for responsible, long-term gold production.

Permitting Update

Grassy Mountain – Permitting Progress

Grassy is advancing through detailed federal and state permitting processes led by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI).
This process is supported by nearly a decade of scientific studies and environmental review covering water, wildlife, air quality, cultural resources, and other key areas.

  • The federal Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) were issued in January 2026
  • Draft state permits were released in December 2025
  • The project is now working through the final stages of the state permitting process
